A “jihadi” with a long sword attacks police near Buckingham palace

According to an official statement, a 26-year-old man had driven a van in front of a police vehicle and stopped it, the incident occurred in a restricted area on Constitution Hill near Buckingham Palace.

He was confronted by three unarmed police constables, the suspect immediately tried to grab a four feet long sword, which was concealed in the van’s front seat passengers foot well.

The 26-year-old man constantly shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the struggle with the police constables. During this confrontation the three officers sustained light injuries, two of them required hospital treatment.

This incident, which happened simultaneously with the attack in Brussels, where a Somalian attacked a police officer with a machete, is treated as terrorism.

The attacker is now under custody at a central London police station.
